Suggested fields missing or incorrect on verify

The Access Capture software is developed by a company called Kofax. Access itself has very little control over the software code used in this part of the solution.

The Access Capture solution uses OCR technology to read files sent in to the system.

It has been developed as a learning system, which requires some human interaction to teach the system where to look on the document for certain field values.

There are many factors which can affect the ability of Access Capture to be certain of a field value and therefore provide this as a suggested list of values/single value.

To improve the chances of Access Capture from being able to read and be certain of the fields, please try to:

  • Provide images with at least a height of 1,000 pixels and a width of at least 1,000 pixels

  • The recommended resolution is 300 dpi

Larger files (in filesize) and files with many pages, tend to be more complex and can:

  • Take longer to extract the document

  • Sometimes lead to uncertain values being recognised or not suggested at all

If you are regularly seeing that the same invoice for the same buyer and supplier have been processed multiple times, yet there are still missing or uncertain fields in verification:

  • Use the feedback button whilst in verification (this looks like a pencil icon over a small square)

  • This will send information back to Kofax for review

  • A feedback response will be sent back to the company explaining the cause of the verification problem.
